It looks like Harry Potter may make it to the Sims 4.

This could be an official expansion pack, which will allow our Sims to train in order to become wizards and witches. The pack was referred as Dragonology and the Simmers were asked to vote for it when the survey was circulated a while ago.

It looks like EA recently invited a very few selected community members to participate in a survey. Among the questions that have been asked was whether the players would be ready to pay a subscription for premium content already.

This subscription can be anything around $100. Every skin and expansion pack released during the year will be available for free to players who choose to be part of this elite player community. This may sound like a good deal - as players believe that they will be receiving lots of quality downloads that otherwise will be very expensive to get. Still... how many expansion / stuff packs per year may be included in the subscription?

It looks like the Sims 4 will make it to the autumn 2014 time frame, although lots of fans started thinking that this won't be the case.  At least this is what was confirmed by the EA and Maxis member, Graham Nardone, via a tweet. The release date will not be pushed to 2015. Hooray!

Graham didn’t confirm a specific date but he confirmed that there is nothing to worry about. The game will launch as scheduled in fall 2014.

These are definitely good news.

It certainly adds up to the survey that was started some time ago asking players questions about expansion packs they would like to see with the Sims 4.

Good news, bad news... the Sims 4 will not require high-end PCs to run. Any machine that could run the Sims 3 will be able to run also the Sims 4. Taking this into consideration, let's be reminded of the minimum system requirements for Sims 3. That will be:

  • 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
  • At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games
