Good news, bad news... the Sims 4 will not require high-end PCs to run. Any machine that could run the Sims 3 will be able to run also the Sims 4. Taking this into consideration, let's be reminded of the minimum system requirements for Sims 3. That will be:

  • 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
  • At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games

Shipping date has been announced by EA on 22 October 2013, and it won't be early 2014... Latest news place the release date sometime in Fall 2014. This is definitely not early.

While we were thinking what we would like to see and enjoy when Sims 4 will come out, while we got ourselves busy making wish-lists and dreaming of what would be nice to have, EA came back with another surprise.

I am having mixed feelings about this surprise.

I can’t believe they will do otherwise though. Customization simply generates money for everyone. Yes, for everyone. Spices up the game, increases the interest of the players, create followers that will look forward to buying the next EP / SP and see how they can further customize…

I will start with couple of things I have in my mind and will be looking around for new ideas and "would be nice to have" things. I will be adding new stuff whenever something new comes to my mind. So, let's see...:

As per EA's announcement on 20 August:

“Over 10 years ago, we created a genre, now we’re taking our most revolutionary step forward by focusing on the heart of the franchise, the Sims themselves,” said Rachel Franklin, VP and Executive Producer for The Sims 4....
